The Beginning
Where It All Started
Tanner Reid was born in 1995 in Moline, Illinois, and grew up in the Quad Cities along the Iowa-Illinois border. From a young age, he was drawn to hands-on work, building things, and figuring out how stuff worked — and more importantly, how to make it work better.
His only job before starting his own business was scooping ice cream at Whitey’s Ice Cream, a beloved Quad Cities institution. But even then, Tanner knew he wanted to build something of his own.
In 2013, at just 18 years old, Tanner launched Vibrant Mobile Detail while playing basketball in Savannah, Georgia. The idea was simple: provide a higher level of service than what most people were used to, with the added convenience of coming directly to the customer.

2015 - 2017
Trial, Error & Iowa Winters
In 2015, Tanner moved back to the Quad Cities and briefly attended St. Ambrose University before deciding to go all-in on the business. This was also the year he got his first real detailing van a proper setup that allowed him to work more efficiently and take on bigger jobs. There was no safety net just the van, a work ethic, and a vision.
The early years were defined by trial and error. Figuring out pricing, building systems, choosing products, learning to deliver consistent results — it all had to be learned from scratch. And it wasn’t cheap.
One of the biggest challenges was running a mobile detailing business through Iowa winters. The freezing temperatures made outdoor work nearly impossible, so Tanner supplemented with snow removal to keep the lights on. But he knew this wasn’t sustainable.
2017 Breakthrough
An RV, a Detailing Van & a Leap of Faith
At 22, Tanner made a move that would change everything. He bought an RV, hooked his detailing van to the back of it, and started driving south. No apartment lined up. No contracts waiting. Just the road, his setup, and the belief that the right market was out there.
He traveled from Hilton Head, South Carolina, down through Tampa, and eventually found his way to Southwest Florida — staying at RV resorts along the way and picking up detailing jobs wherever he could.
From 2017 to 2021, Tanner lived the “snowbird” life – running Vibrant Mobile Detail in both Iowa and Florida, migrating with the seasons. He’d detail in Florida during the winter months and head back north for the summer. In 2021, he made the move to Florida permanent. By 2023, all operations were fully transitioned to Southwest Florida.

Once rooted in Southwest Florida, Vibrant Mobile Detail took off. The SWFL market — with its year-round sunshine, affluent communities, and massive population of car, boat, and RV owners — was the perfect fit for what Tanner had been building.
He expanded from a single van to multiple fully equipped Ford Transit high-roof vans. He hired and trained an in-house team. In 2022, he opened an air-conditioned shop in Fort Myers for ceramic coating applications, advanced paint correction, and team training. And he brought his brothers on board to help run and grow the operation.
During COVID, the business found an unexpected growth catalyst: with people working from home and spending more time with their vehicles, RVs, and boats, demand for mobile detailing surged. Vibrant was perfectly positioned to serve that need. The combination of mobile convenience, professional-grade equipment, and a growing reputation made Vibrant the go-to name for RV and boat detailing in the region.

Where It All Began
At just 18 years old, Tanner Reid launched Vibrant Mobile Detail while playing basketball in Savannah, Georgia. At this point, there was no van Tanner ran operations out of a car, supplies packed into the trunk: a small vacuum, Autozone detailing products, and a two-bucket wash method. Not the most glamorous setup, but it worked. He started offering mobile detailing services with one goal provide a higher level of care than anyone else in the area.

Running a mobile detailing business through freezing Midwest winters proved brutally difficult. Tanner took on snow removal jobs to keep the business alive during the off-season, but knew this model wasn't sustainable long-term. He started looking south.

For four years, Tanner operated Vibrant in both Iowa and Florida, migrating with the seasons. Winters were spent detailing in SWFL's warm climate, summers back in the Quad Cities. During this time, he built his customer base in Fort Myers, expanded into boat and RV detailing, and grew his reputation one five-star review at a time.
COVID Fuels Unexpected Growth
When the pandemic hit, the business found an unexpected growth catalyst: with people working from home and spending more time with their vehicles, RVs, and boats, demand for mobile detailing surged. Vibrant was perfectly positioned to serve that need.
Florida Becomes Home
After four years of splitting time between two states, Tanner made the permanent move to Southwest Florida. He committed fully to the SWFL market, began hiring a dedicated local team, and started laying the groundwork for serious growth. In 2022, he made the transition from the RV setup to the air-conditioned shop at 8801 Business Park Dr in Fort Myers — a major milestone in the company's growth.
Full Transition to SWFL
All operations were officially transitioned to Southwest Florida. Tanner brought his older brother Nick on board as General Manager and his younger brother Jack as Sales Representative. Jack had been working alongside Tanner for most of the company's 13-year history, and from 2021 to 2023, he managed the Quad Cities location before the full transition to SWFL.
In August 2025, both brothers — along with nephew Elijah and other family members — made the permanent move to Southwest Florida, turning Vibrant into a true family-run operation based entirely in SWFL.

With the Fort Myers shop (opened in 2022) already established, Vibrant expanded from a single van to multiple fully equipped Ford Transit vans. The team grew to include lead detailers, a senior detailer, and a crew of trained full-time technicians — refining systems and expanding capacity across Southwest Florida.
Where We Are Today
Today, Vibrant Mobile Detail operates 3 fully equipped vans with a 4th planned for this fall. The team includes 11+ members led by Tanner, GM Nick, and sales lead Jack. The business holds a perfect 5.0-star Google rating with over 400 verified reviews — making it the highest-rated and most-reviewed mobile detailing company in Southwest Florida.

As a Christian, husband to Taylor, and father to two boys — TJ and Roman — Tanner brings the same values to his business that he brings to his family: hard work, honesty, and a genuine care for others.
He’s always been fascinated by maximizing small spaces — whether that’s full homes built inside RVs or a complete professional detail shop built inside a Ford Transit van. That same mindset — making the most of what you’ve got — runs through every aspect of how Vibrant operates.
Where Tanner Is Today
Today, Tanner’s role has evolved from hands-on detailer to business leader. His focus is on leadership, systems, training, and growth — building the playbook that allows his team to deliver the same quality he’s known for, at scale.
He’s still involved in daily operations, but his primary energy goes toward ensuring the systems run smoothly, the team stays sharp, and every customer gets the Vibrant experience. The Vibrant brand now spans two markets — Southwest Florida (run by Tanner) and the Quad Cities, Iowa (run by his brother) — proving that the systems and culture Tanner built are replicable and scalable.
